The ABVP Unit of A & N Islands, today took out a rally from Cellular Jail gate which ended at Tiranga Park, for a public meeting. The activities of ABVP and members of like minded organisation participated in the programme. Shri Navin & Shri Shiva student leader of ABVP addressing the public demanded that Shri Aiyar should tender apology in public for the derogatory remark on the great revolutionary leader Veer Savarkar.

Shri Diip Ghosh, Pracharak of RSS, said that the Cellular Jail is known all over the country for the revolutionary leaders who have spent their life in the jail and became Martyrs. Veer Savarkar was one of the greatest revolutionary leaders among them.

He said that the Veer Savarkar issue is not merely a 'controversy' but a matter of self respect for every patriot.

He said that the country today is run on the policy formulated by a 'foreigner' and we are today moving back to the period of foreign rule.

The others who spoke on the occasion include Shri R.N.Chatterjee and shri Mithilesh Thakur.
